Marc Hoffman Returns to Tega Cay

August 1, 2014 (CHARLOTTE, NC) – Virillion Music recording artist Marc Hoffman will perform Sunday, August 3rd from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Casual Water in Tega Cay, SC as part of their summer jazz series.

Hoffman, a NC native will include original instrumental and vocal jazz  in his performance, as well as standards and pop.

“I’m really excited to be back this year at Tega Cay for the summer jazz series,” Hoffman said. “Casual Water is a beautiful and fun venue and it’s great working with their staff. The crowd is always supportive!”

Marc’s most recent CD, Curioso, is a compilation of eclectic, original jazz pieces. His inspirations for various tracks ranged from Neal Hefti to David Benoit and Jean Luc Ponty. The first airtime Curioso received was on WWOZ in New Orleans with DJ Jelly Roll Justice commenting that. “”Hefti” makes you smile with its delicate riffs and uplifting swing.” The CD has aired on radio in Italy, the UK, and all over the US.

Marc will return to Casual Water and Tega Cay Sunday, August 31st.

Marc is currently at work scoring an animated feature written by legendary animator Tom Ray. Recent film work includes the score for “40 Fears” for Charlotte-based Dalliance Films. Previous film work includes the score for, “The Mill” and acting as Music Supervisor for several films. He was music historian for the film “Revolution”. Also an author, Marc’s Essential Worship Keyboard is published by Emerald Books and picture book, Sleep, Little Child by Virillion Music Publishing.

About Marc Hoffman:

Marc Hoffman received a degree in composition from the North Carolina School of the Arts and studied film composition at USC. He also attended The Dartington International Summer School of Music in Devon, England. His composition teachers have included John Corigliano, Leo Arnaud, Neil Hefti, and Sherwood Shaffer. Marc performs across the US and abroad, as a soloist and with his jazz trio. A member of BMI and the American Composer’s Forum, he is also founder and artistic director of the Salisbury School of Music. Marc lives in Salisbury, NC with is wife, Anne, and their daughter August.
