Marc Hoffman Brings Original Jazz To Hearst Tower Plaza

July 31, 2010 (CHARLOTTE, NC) – In association with the recent release of his new CD Curioso, recording artist Marc Hoffman of Salisbury will perform a solo piano instrumental concert at Hearst Tower Plaza in Charlotte on Thursday, August 5, from noon until 2 p.m., that will include tunes from the CD.

Curioso represents a wide variety of jazz styles, some of which were inspired by other musicians’ work. The song “Hefti,” for example, channels the light, lyrical work of Neal Hefti. “Pontified” is Hoffman’s take on the late ‘70s music of Jean-Luc Ponty. “Introspective” is smooth jazz reminiscent of David Benoit. And the Vince Guaraldi influence is apparent on the title tract, “Curioso.”

This will be Hoffman’s second performance in the Hearst Plaza Concert Series. The concert is free and open to the public.

Tracks from the CD can be heard on Marc Hoffman’s website www.marchoffman.com, and on iTunes, All About Jazz.com, and ReverbNation.com.

The Hearst Tower Plaza is an outdoor plaza lined with restaurants, shops, galleries and landscaped planters. The 32-floor tower rests atop a 15-floor podium that contains the building lobby.
